As AI increases the speed, sophistication and scalability of identity fraud, banks face a growing challenge. Controls that were designed to verify whether a customer is genuine at a specific point in time are increasingly being tested by attacks that can evolve across the customer journey, from onboarding and authentication to account servicing and payments.
This is changing the role of fraud prevention. Banks must move beyond isolated identity checks towards a more continuous view of risk, using AI to monitor changes in behaviour, identity signals, devices, transactions and interactions as they happen. The challenge is not simply detecting suspicious activity. It is determining when risk has become significant enough to intervene, what action to take and how to do so without creating unnecessary friction for legitimate customers.
The session examines how banks are approaching this shift towards real-time identity defence. It will explore which monitoring and intervention tactics are proving most effective, where banks are focusing investment, and what implementation experience is revealing about the operational requirements needed to act on AI-generated risk signals.
In this interactive session, we will examine:
- Where AI-enabled identity fraud is creating the greatest risk for banks
- Which real-time monitoring and intervention tactics are proving most effective
- What learnings reveal about fraud reduction, efficiency and customer experience
